This is an announcement for a series of seminars that will be given to introduce the student to LaTeX, a powerful typsetting program designed to produce professional quality papers and manuscripts. The seminars will begin with instructions on how to install a LaTeX package on your computer along with an nicely integrated editing program. By the time you complete this series of seminars, you will be able to produce professional-looking papers, books, articles, and powerpoint presentions. No prior experience with LaTeX will be assumed.

When: October 31 and November 7 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Where: Building 301, Room B103
Prerequisites: None.

Seminar Schedule

  1. October 31: "An Introduction to LaTeX: The Basics."
    Handouts: Lecture Slides.
  2. November 7: "An Introduction to LaTeX Part II: Writing a Technical Paper."
    Handouts: Lecture Slides, a Paper in PDF Format, the LaTeX File for the Paper, and a Zip File Containing all Files Necessary to Compile the Paper.
